Boston Police report arresting Cristofanes Mendes, the man who was wanted for carjacking and kidnapping for a July 14 incident in which he allegedly took off in a couple's pickup in Dorchester after they got out to check on their 2-year-old son in the back seat, then briefly returned to drop off toddler before speeding off again.
Police say officers arrested Mendes, who has a history of car thievery and bad driving, around 10:30 this morning in the area of Mass and Cass, specifically, at Massachusetts Avenue and Chesterton Street.
Innocent, etc.
