An alleged Mass and Cass pimp was arraigned yesterday on human-trafficking charges and for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon for an incident in March in which he allegedly beat the woman he had been forcing to work for him for three years, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. A man in his car on Northampton Street outside Boston Medical Center was robbed Tuesday afternoon by two men who jumped into his car - with one of them removing his key while the other put him in a chokehold, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Read more.

Gavin Schoch reports one man was found stabbed on Topeka Street while another was found stabbed by police following a blood trail to the Newmarket commuter-rail station, around 9:30 a.m.

A Boston man arrested last fall on state human-trafficking and drug charges at Mass and Cass now faces federal charges that he trafficked women and drugs both there on the Cape and in New York - and that he would beat and rape women to keep them in line. Read more.

State Police report arresting two men for paying for sex with women at Mass and Cass yesterday, although one was unsuccessful because he claimed to be a state trooper and threatened to arrest the woman who had gotten into his pickup if she didn't do exactly what he wanted. Read more.

The Revere Journal reports the city licensing board renewed the license for the Quality Inn after the owner gave assurances he's really trying to re-open the Covid-19-shuttered place as an actual hotel, and not let it be used as overflow for Mass and Cass, as had been proposed by then acting Boston Mayor Kim Janey back in the day, like last year.

Mayor Wu today announced a plan to get everybody now living in tents in the Mass and Cass area connected with "appropriate services" by Jan. 12, after which the city will "ensure the area remains clear of encampments." Read more.
