Brazilian food to make way for Lebanese on Centre Street in West Roxbury
River Grille, which never quite clicked in West Roxbury the way it had in Hyde Park's Cleary Square, has closed at 1866 Centre St.. The space already has a banner up advertising a new place called Bread Thyme and promising "authentic Lebanese cuisine."
River Grille moved from Cleary Square in 2022 as its original home was under what at the time seemed perpetual renovation. In both Hyde Park and in what had been the West Roxbury Subway, it offered both standard pizza-shop fare and Brazilian food.
Bread Thyme would once again give West Roxbury a second Lebanese restaurant, after Al Wadi on VFW Parkway. Fairouz, another Lebanese restaurant, on Washington Street, closed last year.

Love Al Wadi, but I'm glad to try another.

When I lived in Hyde Park, we used to order from River Street Grill weekly because the food was good and the owners knew what they were doing.
I went there once (for my birthday breakfast last November) and while the breakfast was OK, the restaurant was completely empty save myself and the waitstaff. The Subway that was there before it closed fell to the same fate - no one was going in there.
