West Roxbury teen arrested, two pals sought for stealing another teen's footwear - and the pants he was wearing - in an armed home invasion
A 15-year-old from West Roxbury faces charges that he and two accomplices broke into a Weld Street home, then made the teen they found there strip at the point of a gun and knives so they could steal his expensive pants along with fancy sneakers, shoes and sneakers and an older iPhone, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.
At his arraignment in Dorchester Juvenile Court yesterday, a judge ordered him held until at least a dangerousness hearing on Jan. 10 on charges of home invasion and armed robbery, the DA's office says, adding the teen was already facing charges in two unrelated cases.
The DA's office provide this account of what happened around 1 p.m. on Nov. 17 after the 15-year-old and his two accomplices allegedly entered the victim's house on Weld Street near Morey Road in West Roxbury:
The victim heard the males enter and sought refuge in a second-floor bedroom. The males followed the victim to the bedroom. One of the males pulled out a black handgun and the other two brandished knives. The male with the handgun told the victim "Give me all your stuff or I’m gonna shoot you and the dog." The victim’s dog was in a crate in the living room.
The three males stripped the victim of his Spyder pants, then stole his iPhone 13 and other items including Atlanta Dunks sneakers valued at $200, Lavins sneakers valued at $600, Alexander McQueen sneakers valued at $500, Balenciaga shoes valued at $1,000, and Jordan sneakers valued at $120.
Boston police detectives conducted a lengthy investigation incorporating surveillance video from the area around the Weld Street residence and witness descriptions of the three males involved. The investigation led to the identification of the juvenile and police obtained a warrant for his arrest. Investigators are still seeking the other individuals involved.

WELD STREET BREAKDOWN
This occurred within the jurisdiction of the West Roxbury District Court, why are they in the Dorchester District Court?
Juvenile Court
Just a guess ...
West Roxbury juvenile session was closed for some reason.
Disregard her snarky
Ill informed suburban comment. I’m guessing, this kid already has an open case in Dot with an assign probation officer. Thats the only logical reason for it not being assigned to West Roxbury.
It's all Suffolk County Juvenile Court
The courts are not city courts - they are county courts. The only true district here is Suffolk County. Court cases get moved around within counties for a variety of reasons. I was on a jury in Lowell (25 miles away from anywhere I've lived) when the accused pled out on a case that had moved from Malden District Court. Didn't get to find out why.
TL/DR: counties are an odd leftover in MA, but courts are still county level entities. They are not based on cities or their suburbs.
Not quite
People are typically arraigned at the nearest district court. The main thing is that they are arraigned in the county where the crime occurred. There are definitely lines the counties use for determining where arraignments occur. The Malden District Court serves Malden, Everett, Melrose, and Wakefield. A case can get bumped up to Superior Court, which means a case that started in Malden could end up in Lowell, though it would have made more sense to try it out of Woburn. There was probably an issue with case load with your jury duty, and there was probably a good reason to move this arraignment from West Roxbury to Dorchester, but not case load- Dorchester is the busiest district court in the state, from what I've heard.
TL/DR: counties in Massachusetts basically only exist for legal proceedings, and geography still means something in district courts.
Snarky comment indeed.
.
Just a wild guess...
...but I don't think the invaders were looking for expensive pants and sneakers.
A teenager with Atlanta Dunks sneakers valued at $200, Lavins sneakers valued at $600, Alexander McQueen sneakers valued at $500, Balenciaga shoes valued at $1,000, and Jordan sneakers valued at $120, probably didn't make his bank slinging guac at Chipotle.
Funny
Love how you accuse the victim of being a drug dealer because some hoodlem robbed him at gun point.
I don’t personally get it, but sneaker heads think shoes are basically currency nowadays.
No YOU are the one who said
No YOU are the one who said drug dealer. Why don't you assume victim comes from family who are financially comfortable on Weld Street? If u ever were involved in the cocaine business, you would know that the smart dealers send a lot of their money to their family through at the check cashers and don't attract attention with flashy material shit. Ever see a check cashing business in higher bracket neighborhoods?
Santa Claus
Was very good to him?
Remath your math though
It doesn't take that long to make a few thousand bucks at an after-school job or an internship. It also isn't uncommon to have parents who provide a healthy allowance. We don't need to stereotype based on what someone finds important to spend their money on. No one would be making these kinds of implications if the kid owned sports equipment or a musical instrument worth a few grand, as many teens do. Or a car. Let's not blame victims or spread stereotypes that interest in fashion and urban culture is anything but exactly that.
Home invasion
Home invasions and home robberies are becoming a thing.
This young man was not an actor or NBA player, but WTF!
This is West Roxbury and it's supposed to be safe.
Quite intriguing given that
Quite intriguing given that this is a relatively affluent suburban-ish area of single-family homes going for close to one $million. Must have been quite traumatic for the victim.
I'm talking some new kicks...
Ones like you ain't never seen.
