Camo-bird

Yellow bird in yellow flowers

Mary Ellen somehow spotted a goldfinch among the golden flowers at Millennium Park in West Roxbury the other day.

I like how birds like Goldfinches are so light, they can sit on the heads of flowers without the plant moving. (Source: Looking out my window.)

I haven't been playing Angry Birds lately, but clearly I've been reading too much campaign coverage.
I just looked at that nice little goldfinch and all I could think was "frowny Trump profile photo". All those little feathers teased out like the 45 weave.

Anybody with photoshop skills - could you put that flower bud that's directly behind the goldfinch onto a Trump head as a mohawk?

It only took two years but I've finally identified the mystery yellow bird I saw sunning on a green bush on Woolson Street a couple of years ago. Years before that I saw one in one of those city trees on the corner of Morton Street and Blue Hill Avenue. At the time I figured it was an escaped canary. Both sightings were around the same time of year.

Are goldfinches seasonal to the area or are they year round residents?
