Musk administration readies to sell off JFK, O'Neill buildings

The two federal buildings downtown are on a new list of "non-core" buildings the government now says it wants to get rid of.

Also on the chopping block: The IRS center in Andover, and the Volpe building  in Cambridge.

Selling ensures that taxpayer dollars are no longer spent on vacant or underutilized federal spaces. Disposing of these assets helps eliminate costly maintenance and allows us to reinvest in high-quality work environments that support agency missions.
