The Boston Fire Department reports a water main burst on Richmond Street between Hanover and North streets around 5:15 a.m. BWSC workers are on scene trying to repair the main.

A water-main break at 710 Gallivan Blvd., across from the CVS, has flooded and shut the road. Several buildings along Gallivan have taken on water.

NBC Boston reports a broken water main has Tufts Medical Center to shut its emergency room to ambulances because of low water pressure. Flooding also forced the hospital to tell ambulance so to stay away on March 7.

You might want to avoid the area around a broken water main there. BPD officers are there to help guide you somewhere else as BWSC workers struggle to contain the might flow, which has now inundated Exeter between Newbury and Marlborough and forced the evacuation of some buildings.

A water-main break yesterday flooded Dry Dock Avenue and caused problems with the water supply today that forced at least some waterfront and Fort Point companies to close. BWSC reports the main was fixed and put back into service by early afternoon, however.

The Boston Water and Sewer Commission has rain gauges at 10 locations across the city. On Friday, the gauge in Hyde Park registered 3.13 inches of rain - compared to 1.69 inches in the Longwood Medical Area and 1.8 inches in Charlestown. Read more.

BWSC crews are on site at Brookline Avenue and Francis Street, where a sinkhole has opened up, restricting Francis Street to just one lane between Binney Street and Brookline Avenue.
