Boston public-health nonprofit lays off half its staff after Musk shuts USAID

Another couple of underreported entries in the cavalcade of health care & health support deterioration in this country (besides the Trump/Musk attacks on programs like this, besides hospital closures (or threats of closure) like Carney) are the prospective closing of two state-run specialty facilities, partially as a cost-cutting measure. 

Has anyone here been following these?

Pappas Hospital in Canton (rehab & other services for children & young adults) might get folded into Western Massachusetts Hospital.  

Pocasset Mental Health is the only state-run mental health facility on the Cape.  Outpatient & inpatient services.  It only has 16 inpatient beds, but that is over a third of the total available on the Cape.

In addition to lost or relocated services, these moves could put half of the staffs out of work.

It sounds like the news has only been out for 2-3 weeks.  As word spreads, people are taking interest and pushback is starting to happen.  It sounds as if the Governor is listening to the feedback, but time will tell.

There's still facts, data and reports on the Web that they haven't scrubbed. I found a USAID Inspector Gen Report of 10/27/23 where an independent auditor found: 

"Tichenor concluded that JSI prepared its FYs 2018 and 2019 ICSs in accordance with applicable Government acquisition regulations of the FAR, the AIDAR, and the DSSR regarding accuracy, allowability, allocability, and reasonableness of incurred costs and are appropriate for the contracting officer’s use in executing the finalization of allowable costs and indirect rates for the fiscal year with the JSI. Tichenor did not identify any questioned costs." 

But trolls be trollin'. Download stuff while you still can, were about to get a lot of "alternative facts".  Especially about public health!

Both groups made the mistake of being too obvious. Pushing for laws to forcibly sterilize people, lobbying for laws forbidding marriages by people considered unworthy of reproduction turned public opinion against Eugenicists. Nazis realized that their eugenics program had to be less obvious before too many Germans realized the supposedly natural deaths of relatives who were chronically ill or in sanitoriums started looking suspicious.

Nazis did realize that Germans would not have tolerated death camps on German territory - including the portion of Poland that was incorporated into Germany. They realized that even hatred of Jews among Germans had a limit.

Musk and Kennedy realize that the best way to cull the population of useless eaters, people who consume more resources than they produce, people who use more GDP than they produce in surplus, is to create conditions that support deaths.

Decrease support for organizations providing medical care.

Reduce resources for the Veterans Adminstration.

Change Social Security to either reduced benefits or make earning the benefits take more time.

Reduce Medicaid and Medicare coverage.

The current administration wants to kill off the people they consider to be life unworthy of life.

Sounds insane. Yet 1,000 employees were suddenly fired from the VA. The Secretary of Health and Human Services is drug addled lunatic who pushes pseudo-science. It's important that eugenics and racial theories of Nazis were also pseudo-science. A man who is obsessed with spreading his seed in making babies is the effective head of the Executive Branch. It's imporant to remember that Nazis were obsessed with women doing their duty in producing more and more and more pure babies.

We are living in a time of death mongers. Of people who for various reasons come together to kill off millions that they don't want alive.

The Holocaust was not a one time event. Genocides are not unique. The Holocaust was, however, unique in its efficiency, organization and use of bureaucracy to create an industry of death. Musk and Kennedy, and the addled puppet Trump, are also using the Federal bureaucracy to create a new Holocaust. Not organized by death camps. But by the use of chaos as a tool and by destroying the national system that has developed over the decades for keeping people alive and more or less healthy (despite the failures of the commercial aspect of the medical industry.)
