Trump's Secretary of Killing Dogs decreed today that "temporary protected status" for several hundred thousand Haitian refugees - many of whom live in the Boston area - will expire Aug. 3 instead of next February, as set by former Secretary of Homeland Security Alexander Mayorkas. His replacement blamed Mayorkas for not considering how a humanitarian policy might lead to the downfall of the American empire.

Haitians, Mexicans, Salvadorans, Guatemalans, Hondurans, El Salvadorians, Dominican Republicans, Colombians, Ecuadorians, Jamaicans, Nicaraguans, Brazilians, and Indians from India. Notably lacking from this list are Chinese, Russians, White South Africans and the Irish.
I'm sensing a trend here. /S

Mexicans are not eligible for TPS. It's mostly Venezuelans, El Salvadorans, Haitians, Hondurans, Ukrainians.
Haitians specifically got TPS after the earthquake in 2010 fifteen years ago.
Haven't ya heard? Empathy is a Sin

Making the rounds on the religious domain of Xell (Hell with an X) is a book and defenders who argue that empathy is a sin.
They argue that the vaulted love of Jesus Christ is sympathy, not empathy.
The new world, the city on the hill, savior of human civilization, according to Trump, is suffering because of poisoning the blood. Human beings acting as animals in killing sweet, kind pets. Of course there are the claims of unwanted immigrants as monstrous criminals, rapists. When will we start hearing that they are spreading plague (did Covid actually come from brown skinned people?). Is the growing epidemic of bird flu the result of unwanted immigrants? When will Trump and company start calling unwanted immigrants vermin, rats and roaches?
It worked in Germany.
Think South Africa instead

These people, Musk in particular but Trump and his friends too, look at South Africa as the cautionary tale. They think [rich] whites deserved their land, status, and wealth and feel bitter about the end of apartheid. They believe they are the victims of the civil rights struggles; that they were robbed. They are angry with the support Blacks South Africans received from other countries.
They are scared the same thing happening in the US and have vowed to fight back harder and proactively to ensure the history will not be repeated.
In many ways, DOGE, Anti-DEI, etc fit better with a return to pre-apartheid South Africa than 1930s Germany. (Pinochet's Chile being another role model.)

People seem to forget that Musk grew up, all the way through high school, on the sunny side of Apartheid.
His mother attended a whites only university when he was a kid.
His father abandoned them (not that Musk has daddy issues or anything).
The family moved out of SA when the racist apartheid regime fell.
Elon gave the Afrikaner salute, twice, the other week.

They did not confiscate anybody's land unless they were criminally involved with the corrupt apartheid system.
I find it fascinating, horrifying, and utterly bizarre that people don't know the difference between what happened when Zimbabwe did confiscate land from rich white slavers, redistributed it, and set up a communist state, versus the rather civil process that aired the horrors of apartheid but did not take anything from rich white people holding property or violate their civil rights. All South Africa did was enfranchise the majority and end race-based caste systems as a matter of law! Sorry if Elon's white feels were hurted.
My eye doc was a white south African who was pushed out for RESISTING and OPPOSING apartheid. Not for being white when the people he supported took over.
So, yes, many were bitter that their path to exploitation, torture, murder, and control was at an end - but they did not share the fate of similar colonizers in the former Rhodesia.

Haiti Never Had a Chance

Worth pointing out that the western world, including the USA, basically tried to strangle the free nation of Haiti in its grave and never let up into the 21st century.
