In search of poutine in Boston

Amazingly, the Food Monkey finds several local places that serve the Quebec, um, delicacy that, as he acknowledges, is best eaten late at night.

While many horny drunk Bostonian males may have their first poutine experience at Burger King late at night on Ste. Catherine's street, poutine is not just for late night. Poutine is one of the highest forms of gastronomic delight in this reader's opinion. I for one am glad I can get my poutine fix in Metro Boston now, instead of trekking north to Manch-Vegas.

Take it from this Quebecois-American a piece of tourtiere with a side of poutine makes for a great winter meal.

Now if we can just get local stores to cary cheap cheese curd I can make them at home.

Is there any place closer than Quebec (City) to find this? (We couldn't even find it in Montreal, the last time we visited -- several years ago).

Actually, it really isn't hard to make if you have the right ingredients. Right ingredients meaning cheeze curd, good potatoes, and the right sauce (sort of gravy, sort of broth).

Poutine has also spread throughout Alberta now - seems it came to the oil fields with laborers from Eastern Canada and stuck.
