It looks like that address matches up with the Post Office parking lot. Sorta glad I don't work over there anymore.
It is behind Chimera

From the map it looks as if it's the parking lot but if you do a street view it shows it's the building behind where Chimera lighting was (until it moved). The street view shows a "319" spray painted on the side of the building.

Judging from the intersection, this would be constructed where the long-closed A Street Deli is now. Can't say as I'm particularly thrilled about this project, seeing as how I work close to those buildings and can't wait to hear the construction noise and have the streets blocked off and all sortsa goodies.
Also, it'd just ruin the roofline of that neighborhood. The big red BOSTON REALTY CO sign oughta be the focal point, dangit.

With acres of empty lots and surface parking lots wasting space in Fort Point, why in the world would Menino be having developers knock down existing, workable, buildings to build new ones? Especially the type of warehouses in Ft. Point, which are so desirable now? Instead of developing the empty buildings hes just putting new ones where ones already exist?
Its like the Shreve building near the Public Garden, a great building is going to be knocked down when around the corner there are holes and surface parking waiting to be developed. We need Menino to start pushing developers to develop dead spots, not take existing housing/office and knock it down to make more expensive housing/office. The same could be said for the Dainty Dot building. Menino needs to start really being a leader.

The buildings there are quite unqiue and good candidates for reuse. There is one warehouse that has an amazing courtyard inside that you would never imagine. With a little TLC it would be quite a showcase. I don't know much about this building, but it is a similar design it's a shame to tear it down instead of using other land to build a tower.

Pure Sketchup renderings are inherently ugly and don't convey all that well what buildings will look like in real life. What you can tell is that the massing is pretty nice. Also, it looks like the same yellow brick as nearby buildings is being used, which I think will look good as well.

What? That looks nothing like city hall. As for the comments people have made about parking lots, my guess is there is something structurally wrong with the existing building, as it is the only one slated for demolition in that development zone. Everything else connected with the grand plan for the area is infill.
