Boston knows how to put on a flu clinic

Went to the Ohrenberger School in West Roxbury today for my swine-flu shot (yep, I'm in one of the risk groups). Based on what I'd read about some other flu clinics, I was braced for a long wait.

But no. There were a gazillion Boston Public Health Commission workers and EMTs there and lots of arrow signs and staunchions and stuff, and even with all the stops along the way to pick up brochures and fill out paperwork and hand in paperwork, I don't think I was there for more than ten minutes.

God bless them! (Ha, ha.)

I was thinking of going all the way out there to get one but figured there would probably be a riot or something. My doctor didn't have any doses until just the other day so I didn't have to.

You are lucky, Adam. I got nailed by H1N1 that came in via my husband's workplace epidemic. I went to the doctor, and it happened to finally be the day that they had some vaccine for me (like you, asthma puts me in a priority group). They tested me with the office kit, so they wouldn't waste vaccine if I already had it.

Oh well. I'm still working a clinic in Medford on Wednesday because I don't want my friends and neighbors and their children to have to deal with Teh Hamthrax.
