Herald editor boozes it up to disprove Galluccio's toothpaste alibi

Joe Dwinell reports that by waiting a couple minutes, he blew a 0.0 on a breathalyzer after brushing his teeth with the same toothpaste the Cambridge state senator claims set off his at-home tester (not the same one the Herald used, though).
For good measure, Dwinell also downed some Coors Lite and a shot of 80-proof Bushmills single-malt whiskey to see what would happen.

Doesn't the Herald report support Galluccio?
While the Herald story said that Galluccio ought to get his toothbrush ready for jail, the story's data appears to show that the tested breathalyzer (admittedly not the same model Galluccio uses) shows poor results.
The toothpaste registered 0.03% blood alcohol level right after its use, as did a sip or drink of alcohol. But all three decayed rather rapidly -- the shot of booze result decaying far more rapidly than should occur based on the blood alcohol level expected during that period for that booze content.
Is the Herald's testing equipment a piece of crap? Or did they just make Galluccio's case to challenge the breathalyzer results altogether?
No, it weakens his case
Because he was given several chances, and he, um, blew them all, as he admits in his own statement. If the Herald "test" is accurate, then he should have only failed the first test, unless he was repeatedly brushing his teeth throughout the day (don't police typically give somebody more than one breath test after an OUI arrest, to rule out equipment error?).
