Gawker makes it official: The producers of "Jersey Shore" are putting together a Masshole version, to be filmed on the Cape.
The Cape? Massholes don't do the Cape! They do Reveah or Hampton Beach. The Cape? What, are they going to wear khakis and Top-Siders and Nantucket red sweaters and have fights over who gets that chahming little armoire down at that quaint little antique shoppe?
Gawker tries to reassure us we'll only be getting the meatiest of Massachusetts meatheads:
You'll pahty on the beaches of the Cape where Roast Beef Hoagies and cases of Narragansett Light are on every Celtics towel next to a bottle of baby oil and a can of hair spray! Are you down for one wicked cool summah, and be a part of the most wicked reality show evah!
Hoagies? Hoagies? Who writes this crap? Some copywriter from Philadelphia?
Like the job UHub is doing? Consider a contribution. Thanks!

I think they mean South Boston, not the South End (nevermind the absence its definite article).
I'd pick South Swansea

The rest of the list are big cities or sections of them, while Swansea is an obscure small seashore town.
Also, "Wellsley", Cornwall?

Where in Massachusetts is Cornwall? It might be nice if they did a little research (and a took spelling lesson) before writing the release.

They've opened up their site (complete with the mysterious South End and South Swansea references) at wickedsummahcasting.com.
Now, in the grand scheme of things, I'm a mere tourist upon these shores, but doesn't that translate into English as "VerySummerCasting.com"? And isn't that kind of stupid?
Holy freakin' shit...

These guys are wicked retahded!
First, I'll give them this much, Adam. Having a "wicked summah" would be the abbreviated version of a "wicked great summah". Often "wicked" covers "very" as well as "very great/very good". So, I don't have a problem with someone saying "that was a wicked summah" or "that summah was wicked awesome"...same difference. Then again, I'm not a "wicked" purist.
BUT, not only did they create their splash image with their copy from earlier...complete cock-ups included...but then the pics they chose to use as examples of Boston/Masshole fandom include a PHOTOSHOP of a DUTCH kid giving the finger at a Feyenoord football match...
Yeesh.

Wow. That is the most projected over-stretching bullshit I've ever read. There isn't a thing on the copy that suggests race...and beyond that, they don't even ASK about race on the casting application!
Don't get me wrong..."Jersey Shore", and subsequently "Massholes", will continue to be the worst aspect of television this side of televangelists and Fox News. But to decry the casting call as racist? Talk about having her own issues to deal with.

WICKED IS NOT BEING USED IN
By Charlotte

WICKED IS NOT BEING USED IN THE RIGHT CONTEXT.
I think that's the ONEE thing that pisses me off about this show.
Wicked is supposed to modify another adjective, i.e. wicked fun, wicked awesome, wicked good,
Not a noun, such as "wicked summer," that's like saying "really summer." (which is the British way of saying wicked)
You would THINKKK that the people who made this would CONSULTT someone from the area.
Besides what's the whole thing with The Cape? Seriously?
LET'S ALL GO SAILING YOU GUYS.
Fucking retahded.

Seems they are paying attention to some of the comments. wickedsummahcasting.com now says "roast beef subs," but somebody needs to tell them it's a roast beef grindah.
You forgot the first part of that

Because it's in the text on the page, they fixed that...but because the copy higher up has been turned into an image, their inability to spell the state's name correctly lives on.
Wicked awesome.
Massholes on the Cape
By Pete Nice
Tue, 04/13/2010 - 7:19pm
One thing that people may not know is that massholes on the Cape do not primarly hang out on the beaches like the Jersey Shore d-bags do. The massholes down the cape are usually found around the local bars in South Yarmouth and Hyannis Center.
Ever been to Hyannis Center on a Summer weekend night? Its like stepping out of a time machine into 1987. And when those d-bags get older, they frequent the bars in South Yarmouth and other Rt. 28 hotspots. There is a place called Sundowners in Yarmouth that sums up the 25-25 cape/masshole crowd. I bet any show like this will be at this place.
But I shouldn't forget about some of the other masshole places up on the other side of the cape (eastham). Thats another world of its own.
LMAO !!!

Pufferbellies!!! I'd rather stick to the Ho, or the Beachcomber at night... As far as the beach goes, I spent every day on Nauset beach on the 4wheel drive section with about 300 of my friends and schoolmates with kegs and grills galore! Sufers and sunbunnies, that's what I grew up with... What the fuck part are you from?
U all have NO clue!

What's this about sailing and khakis? Let me tell u all something.... I'm a Nauset Graduate, grew up on the not so mean streets of the Cape, HOWEVER... The LOCALS know how to party, a little too well. U'd be lucky living there if u even OWNED a pair of khakis (u def didn't if ur from Fleet) If you put some retard from Swansea (where the fuck is that anyway?) in one of the local bars, they WILL get the shit beat out of them. U think Southie is bad, or townies are bad, as far as OUTSIDERS NOT WELCOME... Just wait till u hit up a bar down there.... We HATED tourists, we HATED those fucks from Conneticut and NY with their Minivans and their BMWs and their trophy houses they built that blocked our views, which they only lived in one week out of the year (only high point of that is we could break into them in the winter..) Couldn't stand the 40something goofballs who's backside resembles that of a werewolf, who let their kids shit on the beach... Oh no!!!! Not to mention none of them knew how to drive... And yes, the Cops are bored as HELL, so someone from the show may end up payin a visit to BCHC!!! I've lived in Southie for 11 years, and, yeah, on my days off you'll catch me down M St, or Nantasket, but if I'm goin for a week vaca u betta believe I'm headin to the cape!!!
