Menino makes critic of library trustees a library trustee

Mayor Menino has appointed state Rep. Byron Rushing to the Boston Public Library board of trustees.
As the Dorchester Reporter notes, earlier this year Rushing told library trustees he could not recall a group that has had a worse relationship with lawmakers than BPL trustees.

So the solution to an inept, secretive board is to add blatant conflict of interest to the mix? True, it's efficient to have a rep who can request state funding from himself. Efficient in a Menino way.
This is what Menino does. Rather than excising corruption, he adds to it by co-opting critics.
