Yesterday's nightmare out of South Station due to a downed tree in Hyde Park was only the beginning. Over the past hour, trees have fallen the Red Line near JFK, Truman Parkway in Hyde Park and Storrow Drive outbound just past the Longfellow.

We live on one of those streets lined with giant sycamore trees; I can't help worrying that one is going to try and sneak in the house for a nap on the couch.

This is what happens when we lower taxes. Our tree infrastructure gets neglected. We need to re-enforce those trees before they fall.
Downed Tree Limb on Truman Parkway

I drove by when the limb was hanging over the parkway. There was: 1 firetruck, 1 Boston Police cruiser and wait for it...3, count 'em, 3 State Police Cruisers! Now I know what to do the next time drag racers go tearing up Truman. Simply cut down a tree limb and toss it on the Parkway!
