Man hit by train in Lynn

AlertNewEngland reports the man, hit by the 5 p.m. Rockport train, was extricated around 5:40 p.m. He was due to be transported to an impromptu helipad at North Shore Community College, where a helicopter is waiting to take him to a trauma center. In the meantime, commuters south of Lynn are reporting delays on the line.

Several stories were breaking at once tonight, including this and the naked jogging lady in Hyde Park and I managed to morph "person" from the initial train report into "woman," probably because I was busy listening to the scanner about the Hyde Park woman. When I went back to correct this post, I obviously missed a "she" (in addition to these two stories, breaking at basically the same time: Shooting/street lockdown in Roxbury, a strip-club worker getting held up, a construction worker getting blown up in Waltham and a couple of other stories - I don't think I've ever seen so many things happen all at once).

the Haverhill/Reading line was turned into a dog's breakfast shortly after the Lynn incident occurred when an outbound train stalled south of Malden Center.

I was on a following train, and it took us just under an hour and ten minutes to go from North Station to Wakefield.

Update: He died
