Chris Devers spotted Joe Curtatone dressed as Columbus in Somerville's Halloween parade yesterday. So there, Boston Herald.

Mayor Curtatone writes about his Halloween costume
here in the Somerville News.
Occupy ...
North and South America!
Wow
An italian that sees no problem with Columbus Day. Let me know when a native American speaks out in its defense. Or whines about the PC police.
captcha: hgehh. EXACTLY!
There's a better reason his outfit is newsworthy
Aside from the obvious one of people having trouble picturing Tom Menino in a getup like that: The Herald had accused Curtatone of being a godless Commie who hates everything that is dear and sacred in America, such as blood-drenched zombies and slutty Little Bo Peeps, because a Somerville school principal dared to suggest that maybe students consider the negative ramifications of Columbus's contact with the native populations.
My apologies for being remiss in not linking to that from the original post.
Dumb of the herald
Curtatone hasn't been shy defending the holiday.
Could you share the quote
Could you share the quote from the Herald where they accuse Curtatone of being a godless Commie?
1492
The year Native Americans discovered Columbus!
The most important question is being overlooked…
Where did he find that costume?
The best guess I've seen so far is that it could be repurposes post-grad graduation ceremony robes, which he'd have as he earned a MPA degree from Harvard's School of Government earlier this year.
INDIAN IMMIGRATION POLICY
The Native American policy of open boarders was a disaster.I remember drinking with an old friend who happened to be a Mic Mac at Foleys on Saint Patricks day, He raised a toast and said "I pray that the English get out of Ireland and then you guys can get the F out of my country"
