Maybe if fewer people behind the wheel were goofing around doing things like snapping pics with their cellphones and more people were concentrating on the road, we wouldn't have wrecks like this.

At least those things are on the windshield, so the driver is looking forward.

It is similar to glancing at the speedometer or the radio or anything else in the vicinity of the dashboard.

With the text messaging, the drivers are looking straight down at their phones which are held in one hand above their laps. I assume they think they being sly about it.

Next time you're at a red light, glance for a second at the driver behind you (in your rear-view mirror) or to your side and 9 times out of 10 they are clearly staring down at their phones.

And it's not just teenagers, not even close.
