Southiegirl captured the scene on the Zakim this afternoon, when police stopped traffic as the Biden motorcade departed the memorial for MIT police officer Sean Collier.

Traffic was stopped on the bridge at least half a dozen times while I was lingering about the area.
I have video of the Biden escort, but after a year and a half, I can't figure out how to get video files off my Nikon D3100 still... help!

It'll pull videos from either an SD card or USB connection.
If you have OS X, you have Image Capture.

When I view my SD card files on my computer, I only see pictures files. This is in the regular folder viewer, so there's no drop down list of what files to show. It simply does not show the video files. :(

How are you importing the files? I import the files from my D7000 into Lightroom and the video files show up along with the image files. But also I'm able to view video files under windows explorer. MY Computer>D7000 (listed under portable devices)>removable storage>DCIM folder>another folder>once that folder is opened the video file should appear with the image files. On the D7000 the video is in quicktime format. I assume it's the same with the D3100.
Biden's 5 Student Draft Deferments and "Asthma"
By O-FISH-L

Brother and Sister Officers that I spoke with after the Officer Sean Collier service seething that Lie-a-watha Warren and Five Deferment Biden were up on that stage. Really shameless that either would show. Two complete frauds, Biden as "Neil Kinnock" and Warren as "Cherokee" speaking out on behalf of a true hero. One of the Cambridge homeless that Officer Collier helped would have been more authentic.

I think he's mad that important people - well, important Democrats - showed up for this service, but I'm not sure I have all the nuance correct.
Oh so disrespectful!

A sitting US senator and the Vice President showing up at a memorial service just to disgrace the good police officer. Tsk tsk.
Had neither of them shown, those counterfactual "brother and sister officers" would have been bitterly whining on and on about how "he gave his life to protect blah blah and they were too stuck up and snooty to care blah blah blah".
The great part

As an Elizabeth Warren fan, thanks for keeping "Lie-a-watha" thing going. I appreciate how like-minded Scott Brown supporters couldn't help themselves from performing cheesy indian songs during campaign rallies.
I know that your sense of outrage over Biden's plagiarism incident decades ago, outweighs the fact that voters chose to repeatedly elect him to the Senate and Vice Presidency.
I want to encourage you to keep up the name calling, chanting war cries and I'll suggest some Tomahawk chops too. Keep up the good work!
Pretty happy too

It led to a blowout win, and the curtain being peeled back on Conservative yes man Brown.
But hey, at least he proved he wasn't a RINO. He was rejected by the MA electorate, like every other Mississippi flavored republican. Now they can grovel, but be rest assured he was one of them.
Winning elections and representing constituents politics is so lame. Better to just grandstand.
Just the facts sir

In the interest of clarity I would like to ask who were the brothers and sisters? Unless they come forth and express their own horror and shame that the Vice-President and the senior Senator of the Commonwealth took the time to pay their respects then I have to reason that there were no brothers and sisters who seethed.
The criticisms themselves are weak. Biden appropriated a phrase that has been said probably by millions of Americans. The first person in an extended family to graduate from college is part of the pride of American identity. It is part of the wealth and freedom of the U.S. that provides the opportunity to people to excel, who in less egalitarian nations would be forced to remains peasants. Biden's statement affirmed an important element of America identity.
The implied accusation of draft dodging of Joe Biden should at least be given equal billing to his predecessor. Former VEEP Cheney avoided military service with an equal number of deferments. What is the difference? At least Biden had a physical impairment (or is asthma a fake medical condition?)
Perhaps the reasoning is liberal politician's draft deferments equal draft dodging; yet, Conservative politician's draft deferments are transformed by Conservative mysticism into patriotism at home?
The grade school play on words regarding Senator Warren is childish.
But bringing up Vietnam in this context might not be the best idea. The use of napalm and Agent Orange against civilians left a permanent stain on the history of the U.S. The fiasco of the Vietnam "police action" itself is an embarrassment that will remain a stain on our history until every person affected has gone on to a better life.
This is a good example of why Conservatives fail this nation. Instead of providing ideas and criticism that lift and build they instead are always focused on ways to tear down and destroy.
Did Warren and Biden go to the funerals for the other three?

Or just the cop? Because I'm sure they knew the cop personally and not the other three.
Glad we stopped 93 for this. Great that we haven't turned a real tragedy into a circus.

That was private, and a couple days ago. Biden attended a memorial service. Have you already forgotten the service the president attended last week, at which he remembered the three civilian victims?

Now, again, let's get back to work, because there is clearly work to be done when it comes to keeping foreign criminals out of the United States.
If DHS and FBI can't get together to share the information that Tamerlan might be bad news, then Warren, Markey, et al (you know, people we pay to make laws) might be wise to get on the stick and ensure that another pop up doesn't drop in between two fielders again.
Then again, we can't get these 100 morons in the Senate to do gun control properly, even when 26 people are shot dead at an elementary school. Maybe we as a society don't really care when people die for no reason.

I do. But I do it quietly.
Tell you what: When I draft my last will and testament, I'll ask that no highways or roads be closed for any service held in my memory. Even if I in my lifetime somehow rise to the level where a politician might actually show up when I die, I'll say "no, this is not a big deal, but thank you."
