Hogan's Run ends in Brighton; replacement to get windows

Thomas Hogan is selling his eponymous bar on Lincoln Street in Brighton.

Proposed new owner Francis Thomas told the Boston Licensing Board at a hearing this morning he's planning few changes at the watering hole, except to add more items to the food menu - and to replace the bar's current "portholes" with actual windows.

If the board votes to approve the transaction tomorrow - nobody spoke in opposition at the hearing - Thomas will pay Hogan $250,000 and change the bar's name to Lincoln Bar and Grill.

I think this place was

I think this place was originally the Lincoln Cafe, and the owners had another joint somewhere else , its location rusted away in my memory right now.

It changed from Lincoln Cafe to Hogan's Run.....

Maybe the lawyer said "13" instead of "30." It's hard to hear in the hearing room sometimes :-).

The Stinkin' Lincoln

It used to be "The Lincoln" or the "The Stinking Lincoln". A friend used to work in the kitchen in the late 1980's and early 1990's. The then owners sold it sometime after my friend moved back to Ireland, which I think was around 1995 or so? I think it was renamed Hogan's Run in early 00's.

I've another friend who drinks there after work on Fridays with his construction buddies and has been doing so for years, I'll ask him if he remembers.

Lincoln cafe

The name was the Lincoln. My husband was a bartender there for many years. Yes some people called it the stinkin Lincoln. I remember way back when they had the best steak tips. Good luck to Mr. Thomas and bring back the good food.
