Mayoral roundup: Harvard professor announces his fave, Connolly supports quixotic campaign, Walsh opens offices
Charlotte Golar Richie announced this morning Harvard Law professor Charles Ogletree has joined her campaign as a senior advisor:
She's an excellent candidate with deep roots in the community, rich experience in government and a vision for the city.
Larry Harmon reports City Councilor John Connolly, who's been positioning himself as the education candidate, voted for fellow hopeful Charles Yancey's perpetual campaign to build a high school in Mattapan - the same week school officials were acknowledging city high schools have too many seats (Memo to Yancey and Connolly: Roslindale doesn't have a high school, either).
Marty Walsh's campaign announced their man is not just a Dot rat - he's opened campaign offices across the city, including "HYDE PARK 614 Hyde Park Ave.," a location that's actually in Roslindale (so we may not have a high school, but at least we have a campaign office - two actually, since Connolly's citywide HQ is on Belgrade Avenue).
The Herald reports some mayoral hopefuls gave the media higher campaign-receipt numbers than they filed in their official reports with the state.

Harvard
An endorsement by anyone from Harvard is enough to disqualify a candidate. Harvard is the home of people who know what is best for everyone else while hiding out in their Cambridge enclave.
The Ivory Tower's denizens
The Ivory Tower's denizens are great at developing theory without direct personal experience, getting themselves into government to practice their theories, messing up xyz for everyone else thanks to their theories and position in government, than retreating back to the safety of the Ivory Tower when the peasant are at the gate with pitchforks and torches.
Harvard's property
Harvard owns more land in Boston than it does in Cambridge. Harvard Business School is based there, in case you have forgotten.
Not to push back on your theory too hard; just want to point out that there are plenty of enclaves across the River in Allston. You should be more vigilant if you hope to sass them.
You must mean students in caves
Anything resembling actual enclaves in that part of the world are all in Brookline.
Third campaign office in Rozzie
Stephen Murphy looks to be opening a campaign office in Roslindale as well — altho he's a candidate for city council, not mayor. There are signs above the old flower shop at the corner of Belgrade Ave and Walworth Street. Nobody has been working out of there yet (that I've seen). It's basically across the street from Connolly campaign offices.
Oh, yeah
Because they finally condemned and tore down his old campaign HQ in Hyde Park.
Well, MJ's is closed
so that can be used for someone else's campaign office.
Connolly's office
Was MJ's back in the day, before the fire (for that matter, it was also a Flaherty office four years ago).
The OCPF story is a non story
The OCPF story is a non story thus why they didn't bother to quote anyone from their office. Basically all the receipts add up but the final day to deposit was a Saturday and they don't clear those things until Monday. Trying to make a scandal where their isn't one.
