I lived in Quincy for 27 years, went to school right down street at Central JH and never knew that was a Masonic Temple until today when it caught fire.
Can see it easily from 27th floor of Pru.

I'm curious what did you think it was? I can't imagine living in Quincy that long and at some point hearing a reference to it. It's a major landmark...or rather, was.
Damn shame. That was one of the coolest looking buildings in the area. It's a huge loss. It wouldn't shock me if the land conveniently ends up going to another luxury high-rise developer.

Masonic Lodge 1170 Hancock Street. Was just sold to a developer to build a high end hotel - Very Shady!
