Moves Begin: Johnson Building Improvement Project

As we shared in our last timetable update http://www.bpl.org/compass/2013/09/16/timetable-fo... preparation for the construction and renovation is actively underway. Here are some specifics:
Thursday, October 10: The reference desk on the second floor of the Johnson Building will relocate to the Boylston Room on the second floor of the McKim Building.
Tuesday, October 15: The second floor of the Johnson Building will be closed beginning at 9 a.m.
Tuesday, October 15: The Microtext desk will move to the Washington Room on the second floor of the McKim Building and be closed to the public for that day.
Microtext service will resume on October 16.
Week of October 15: The move of second-floor materials to the first floor will begin.
The entire move is expected to take 5-6 weeks and portions of the collection may be temporarily unavailable during some of that time. Once books are on the first floor, they will be fully browsable. In the meantime, we encourage Central Library patrons to make book requests via the library’s catalog http://bpl.bibliocommons.com/ which will give library staff time time to pull books from second-floor shelves.

Boston Public Library continues its series of roundtable discussions to update library users and interested residents on the Johnson Building Improvement Project.

On some other sites, users have the options to 'hide' content from certain users. Is this available with the new Drupal update?
UH would be the PERFECT website if I could hide all comments from certain users who feel the need to comment on EVERY story with their holier than thou nonsense about bikes and guns or whatnot. I'd love to hide them and read actual insight.
Just a thought... sorry for further derailing this thread.

theszak has been around UH for ages. He clearly has occasional difficulty figuring out which threads are appropriate places to post the info he wishes to share. And he rarely if ever responds directly to fellow UHubbers trying to discourage this misplaced commenting. But he does not act like a troll - he never uses abusive or coercive language and he does not appear to intentionally sidetrack or derail threads. His vocabulary reflects someone who thinks deeply and precisely and with an almost hyper-focus. His continued presense on UH, despite the occasional irked jab in his direction, reflects a desire to be an active and engaged member of the community.
I will be very presumptious here and say that these and other characteristics of his online persona mirror someone who might be on the highly-functioning end of the autism spectrum. If this is the case, then occasional communication glitches are to be expected.
I find his concern for open and explicit government process commendable - there have been many times I've found information from him quite interesting and important - even when it seems to have no direct corelation to the topic at hand. Personally, I would be very disappointed to see him excluded from the discussions here, especially when so many individuals with less useful - even intentionally disruptive - agendas are allowed to remain.
But...he does need to work on posting his comments in topically appropriate threads. I suspect he does not appreciate (or forgets) how distracting it is for most UH readers when the subject of a long comment is not directly related to the original article (don't worry, I get the internal irony here).
theszak, if you are reading this comment, I would ask you to please listen to adam's request to email him directly if you think you have something important to share with the UHub community that is not being discussed, but that might be a good topic for an article. He has a great deal of experience and skill, and can probably give you excellent guidance on how to most effectively share your information with the rest of us.

In Massachusetts, Boston's City Stenographer impaired access to public records of Public Meetings of Boston City Council. Doesn't that driver know that you're not supposed to rescue cute little lost & helpless critters like that? They imprint on humans and are never able to live properly in the wild again.
...on the other hand...
This is one driver who will never have to experience menacing behavior from any antisocial passenger. Not with Wall-E the Green Robot riding shotgun. Not twice, anyway. I'm thinking the competing robot in the conference room scene early in "Robocop". "Don't touch the driver!", indeed!
