Service on the Ashmont line is halted this afternoon as Transit Police investigate how a woman in her 20s wound up under a train at Shawmut station around 1:25 p.m.
An MBTA spokesperson says the woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after she was hit by an inbound train. The T is busing passengers between Ashmont and JFK/UMass while the investigation continues.
A Globe photo really tells you all you need to know about how the whole thing affected the train's driver.

For the great work you do. The poor driver looks like he is on the verge of a breakdown next week it will be back to normal and he probably will be spit on or punched out because of red line delays. As far as the T sleuths solving the mystery of what happened to this poor girl may I suggest they put down their newspapers and watch the video cameras that are in the station.

That poor guy. I hope he's getting help, too.
