...Unless you're seeing something I'm not. I do see what appear to be some chimneys that are part of this complex. The Pine St Inn tower is much taller than anything in the photo above.

I do see behind the trees in the background what looks like a gasometer, which may be the one that still stands at Southampton and Mass Ave, now the Best Western Roundhouse Suites.

The Pine Street Inn tower has single bays on each side at the top -- this tower has double ones.

Pretty sure that's the old Boston City Hospital, now known as Boston Medical Center.

I think that's one of the buildings dismantled/demolished in the early 90's to make way for the new inpatient facility.

The stairway looks familiar -- Manary, maybe?

Based on the tower in the background, I would say it is the Boston City Hospital Albany street. But my first feeling was the Mattapan Chronic Disease Hospital on River street.

What a ducky link. It even mentions commmentor Neal's gasometer. It mentions that Curtis & Pope Lumber Co. is'' Still in business today as the Curtis Newton Corporation.'' What i couldn't find, is if the Pope that was part of Curtis & Pope was the Pope that had the railside lumber company in West Roxbury that is now basically the site of the new and improved Roche Brothers , +/- a few other lots. The old Roche brothers was up the street towards the firehouse, and was an Elm Farms ( fond remembrances to Abie , former produce buyer ).
With respect to the old City Hospital ,I banged that receiving dock a few times , and the lads lumping the patient up the stairs is consistent with the cobbled nature of the old hospital. Also. in that link is mention that the Curtis & Pope Lumber Co. owned the lot at the corner of Mass & Albany streets, which could be the morgue , if it is still there.Boy , this internet is a grand thing, too bad it wasnt invented sooner.

I've worked in a couple of hospitals in the area, which makes it hard to place - but I'm pretty sure that I've either been there or one very much like it.

Is this the building that now houses the BU School of Public Health? That would be my best guess - the back side of it.
