Police continue hunt for Cambridge armed robber initially thought to be one of the Tsarnaevs

Cambridge Police report they are looking for help in finding a man who held up the Central Square 7-Eleven on April 18, 2013, shortly before MIT police officer Sean Collier was shot to death.
In the initial confusion following Collier's death and the car chase that ended in a shootout in Watertown, police at first thought the bearded man who held up the convenience store might be one of the Tsarnaevs.
According to police, the man walked into the store, asked the clerk for change, then took out a gun and used it to order the clerk to give him money from the register.

...because cops were too busy playing commando, then doing parade details, then stickering their police cars with "boston strong" stickers.
Apparently actually catching criminals, making people afraid, and harassing bikers from doing fun rides is more important than actually capturing criminals.

How we can be sure that this
How we can be sure that this person, the robber, wasn't the one who shot officer Collier?
How can we be sure of anything?
But until the trial, at least, I'm going to give the police the benefit of the doubt and assume they still think the Tsarnaev brothers ambushed Collier, not some other random bearded dude.

I agree this robber could very well be the guy who killed Collier. I'm wondering why its taking the cops almost an entire year to find this man as well.
Probably because they had more important things to worry about
Like helping the MIT cops compile evidence against the Tsarnaevs.

If the Tsarnaev brothers had the murder weapon, it would be safe to assume that beardo didn't do it.
Cowboy hat/ bucket hat man
This article doesn't mention that the 7/11 armed robbery was just .3 - that's 3 tenths- of a mile and about a 5 minute drive from 32 Vassar, where Officer Collier was shot. The police scanner audio is available to listen to on various Youtube channels, and you can listen to the calls come in for that time period. There were two descriptions of the 7/11 robbers - a white or Hispanic male, 200 lbs., wearing a black cowboy hat. Another report said a suspect in the murder of Collier was wearing a black cowboy hat. Possibly the "bucket hat" of the man in the surveillance photo was mistakenly called a "cowboy hat". Why weren't the police connecting these two incidents when the timing and suspect descriptions are so close? There was also another suspect of the armed robbery described as a black man, 5' 7", 120 lbs., wearing black jeans and a black North Face jacket. Couldn't these two men be the two men who, we are told, are in the surveillance video of the men who did the murder? Their faces, we are told, are not recognizable in the video, but their body types should be more identifiable.

Do they mean 7-eleven? If so, which? There's one at 750 Mass Ave. corner of Pleasant, 0.8 miles, fifteen minute walk from 32 Vassar; and there's a 7-eleven at 600 Technology Square, corner of Main & Portland, only 0.2 miles or a three minute walk from 32 Vassar? The wanted poster doesn't say where or when but is vague except for the date and city. It says "convenience store" not 7-eleven.
