Two shot, one dead, in Egleston Square

UPDATE: Murdered victim identified as Michael Lanier.

Boston Police report two men, both 24, were shot around 1:50 a.m. at School and Arcadia streets. Both were taken to Brigham and Women's Hospital, where one was pronounced dead and the other was expected to survive.

"At this time, the incident does not appear to be random," police say.

I understand the snark, but take a look on the map--this happened a block NE of Boylston Street, which is where the Mozart Street/Boylston Street feud played out four years ago. The one death that occurred in the last flareup of this feud happened in broad daylight, on a weekday. And this is three blocks from an elementary school.
