Jessica Torrez-Riley, who is one, posts voice mail to students from the school's Office of Public Safety. A number of Northeastern students live in the building where the woman's body was found.
Herald Confirms, she was a Northeastern student.

I don't think the previous anon said it was an insult. He/She just said she wasn't hispanic. Your reading into it.

no, being hispanic is not an insult. what feels like an insult is how the police don't know what they're talking about.

You want to bust police chops because they estimated her age at 22? Oh, wait, they got that one right.
Is there really something you don't understand about looking at an unidentified dead body and noting down the salient characteristics to help you identify the deceased? Or is it that you haven't seen a picture? I'd be interested to hear you explain in what way she doesn't look Hispanic. She looks totally Dominican to me.
No, the people who don't know what they're talking about in this situation would not be the police.

Anyone else get skeeved out when they pass by Parker Hill Ave on South Huntington? It just looks impossibly creepy - especially at night. I just can't put my finger on exactly why.

Looks like she's got a facebook page, not linking thou.
This is sad, wondering if t was a break in, or domestic violence. From the sounds of being shot in both leg, the later.
WTF is wrong with the people in that building BTW? They all heard gunshots, very close, but no-one called police or investigated...

I lived for a number of years next to a national guard firing range ... and I still can't always tell the difference between a gunshot and a firecracker or a back fire, etc. against a background of urban noise.
That said, I think the proximity alone would make a difference in the level of alarm, no? Either this person is jaded/burnt out, completely self-absorbed, or involved in something that they shouldn't be to not report what was heard INSIDE the building. Stoking the coal furnace, perhaps?
I doubt that person hears gunshots all the time, either. I used to work in that neighborhood and it seemed pretty quiet and pleasant, likely moving up, not down. In any case it was NEVER the kind of war zone that "shots all the time" would depict. Nice try at an excuse, lamer.

HI,
It is a sad situation. The important thing here is to find out what really happened. Not questions like is she Hispanic? Does it matter.
