Less likely to happen in an Uber Car
Because Uber knows who you are and where you are with your phone.
And I bet the Uber car would have been nicer.
It sucks for the cab driver though. But given the number of times I have been taken for a ride by cabbies trying to rack up fare, I have a tough time offering sympathy.
No, Uber waits until
they can institute "surge pricing". Then they rob your credit card.
Not Quite
You know ahead of time whether surge pricing is in effect.
You have the choice to decline and take a cab. If you can find one.
Not only that, they make you
Not only that, they make you manually enter the percentage you're being charged to let you know.
That's just BS.
That's just BS. You are aware of surge pricing when you request. No surprises.
Uber Drivers get paid electronically
Frequently "broken" credit card readers in cabs mean that there is a really good chance that a cabbie has a lot of cash around.
Not that all junkies would know this, but Uber sets up the payments and tips electronically. That makes an Uber an unattractive target.
?
You're the only one who brought up "Uber." I'm more concerned about the driver. Is the okay? Did the thieves get caught? Was the Hackney Unit notified so they can keep an eye on potential serial robbers targeting cabbies?
Nah, you just care about your magic app, and veiled racismm not about members of your community or local economy.
Oh hahaha, of course. That's
Oh hahaha, of course. That's the new argument against Uber among the millennial "everything is white peoples' fault" crowd - blame it on racism. Totally reactionary, unable to yield civilized argument, totally ignores facts and utter horseshit.
Yes, people use Uber because they are racist against cab drivers. What a crock.
Ever heard of a house slave
Ever heard of a house slave versus a field slave? That's the analogy right here in front of you.
Uh, whut?
In the last dozen or so Uber rides that I've taken, there was maybe one white driver.
Has it occurred to you that having a system that favors the use of cash - large quantities of cash - creates workplace hazards? No?
Cash is king
Every business still uses cash! What if your wallet gets lost or stolen and you don't notice for an hour? Your credit cards can still be used, even though you're not liable. So now we're blaming cabbies for getting robbed?
