WBZ introduces us to Uwa Lawrence, a landlord in the Roslindale/Mattapan area who is allegedly horrible enough to remove the windows, doors and circuit breaker on a cold February day from a unit whose tenant he wanted to get out.

Pretty bad to top Anwar Faisal. Also shows how toothless ISD is.
The ISD was toothless in the past

Unless you crossed Mumbles. Then you found a large part of your ass missing. Hoping things are better under Walsh.

Which is pretty funny. I don't recall whether looking at the student bomb as a constituent service problem to solve has been done in the past.
It looks a bit more thorough than the usual Boston shrug, duck and bitch routine.
It's another form of stakeholder outlook. Students may not elect mayors, but their seasonal cycles are a major event to manage skillfully rather than a storm to endure.
.
Well, why not?

They voluntarily chose to learn at a college in Boston, no? Why not make the effort if you're going to come live here?
Of course.

I was referring to the usual city reaction to it all, which is to complain. And that is a perfectly understandable reaction.
It is safe to assume the kids will be bewildered by the place and it will be a handful. I just don't remember if city gov officials ever thought through the specific problems of the arrival this thoroughly.
If anything, it will be an interesting experiment.
That's a vicious, criminal thing to do to a tenant, in any case.

How vicious can a landlord be? The landlord in the roslindale/mattapan area who removed a tenant's windows, doors and circuit breakers on an icy-cold day in February in order to get him/her out behaved in a most vicious, criminal manner.
Even Anwar Faisal wasn't quite as vicious as that, although he (Anwar Faisal) was pretty close, imho.
The city (of Boston) helped create the problems to begin with.

The City of Boston helped create the problems to begin with, by continuing to allow the colleges and universities here in the area to continue to encroach so deeply into nearby neighborhoods, most notably Allston/Brighton, Mission Hill, and Roslindale/Mattapan, allowing slumlords like Anwar Faisal and others to take full advantage of the situation, and then acting too little, too late, when substantial damage had already been done.
