City Hall open until 11 tonight

For people who want to bring flowers or mementos to honor Tom Menino, the mayor's office announces.

Tomorrow, condolence books will be placed in all BPL branches and city community centers.

Letters and cards may be sent to:

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Thomas M. Menino Fund for Boston, so that the family can continue to support the programs that Mayor Menino embraced, and that helped so many.

Yes, that's right, the minimum donation you can make at the fund's website is $50. I hope someone will change that, at least during the mourning period.

They've now changed the website to take donations of any amount.

Police have shut down Chesterfield Road in Readville because of all the media trucks there.
