All those Massachusetts politicians look alike

Tim Cahill

Shane notices that the image Bing is using for posting results tonight has Treasurer Tim Cahill running against Martha Coakley.

Well, all the middle-aged white males kinda do.

Does it matter who Martha runs against? She would lose to Jeffrey Dahmer.

Am I confused or wasn't there some thing where she tried to get him on corruption charges and lost?

claim raised by the other party that ads Cahill ran as Treasurer promoting the Lottery somehow had submliminal messages convincing people to vote for him for Governor. Even though Cahill was never featured in any of those ads.

A big part of Cahill's claimed credentials in his run for governor was his experience managing the lottery. The ads were not "Cahill for Governor" ads; rather, the conflict of interest was in running ads that boosted the reputation of the lottery at the same time that he was running a campaign based on how successful the lottery was.

is to promote the Lottery. The "conflict of interest" argument was one of the worst BS red herrings this state has ever seen.

And if we're so concerned about officials and politicans using their current positions to their advantage when running for higher office, then perhaps it's time we consider a "resign to run" law in this state.

Meanwhile Bill Galvin's big dumb face is there smiling at you when you look up your polling place. And he's on the ballot. But that's cool! Let's hope Bill never runs as an independent.

It also says Charlie Baker is a republican, which he has steadfastly denied.

Funny echo there. Cahill jumped the party and ran as Independent last go-round. Coakley, who apparently couldn't see a problem in Sal DiMasi's fee structure arrangements, went after Cahill for misuse of lottery funds. And effectively, lost.

Meanwhile, the guy that she didn't go after is serving federal time, because the feds did, and won.

I always wondered if the Cahill thing was payback for political apostasy.

"I always wondered if the Cahill thing was payback for political apostasy."

What's to wonder about? That's one of the main reasons I voted for Baker.

Cahill over Coakley!

Not all of them, mind you, but there's a sizeable subset of the Republican candidate pool composed of somewhat corpulent white men with white hair and a very reddish/pinkish complexion (almost no tan.) I don't know if it's an ethnic category that I'm seeing or just the results of some kind of Republican-associated lifestyle, silly as that sounds.

(Charlie Baker isn't part of that subset, though.)

Tim Cahill is the white guy with blonde hair from Quincy
Bill Delahunt is the white guy with silver hair from Quincy
John Keating is the white guy with little hair who used to be from Quincy but got redistricted out to make room for Steve Lynch (a white guy with brown hair from Southie)

But they're all Dems so I dunno what this post is about at all.
