Trains, tracks freeze, shivering riders can only go: Oh, jeez!

Well, they did warn us. Track problems on the Fairmount Line, a dead train on the Haverhill Line, switch problems on the Kingston/Plymouth Line, signal problems on the Providence/Stoughton Line all add up to commuter woes. There's a dead train somewhere on the Orange Line, and a Green Line trolley pulled into Kenmore with no heat, although as Bart Antista explains:
Great #mbta worker got everyone off and on another train. Nice work this morning #welldone
Meanwhile, Josh Silva praised his bus line:
They get dumped on a lot so tip of the cap to MBTA #7 bus today. Picked a perfect day to run smoothly. Drivers very helpful.

Needham line
Shockingly, only one delay on the Needham line as far as I can tell.
no issues
I've noticed riding the T between 5-6am usually yields no issues. Same with today. Buses were on time, so was the Orange Line at 6am. I was actually at the gym 10 minutes early!
and Kudos to 111 driver who kept the heat cranked on the bus and kept asking folks if they were too hot or cold.. I get this guy often, he's an awesome driver regardless.. friendly, pleasant, talkative, smiles a lot.. I wish the T could clone him.
I agree
Reading things like these, I get the feeling that I have good transit luck.
3 minute wait for the bus at Roslindale Square at 8AM, and a slew of buses came around the same time. None of the buses I saw were very packed and due to closed school (which I disagree with, but for this it was good) traffic was lighter. The Orange Line had had standees but was not packed.
The missus was out the door at 7:10, leaving 20 minutes earlier than usual worried about delays. The only thing of note was a crowded Orange Line train.
The dead train on the Haverhill line
was the 7:30 from Reading, which gave up the ghost at Malden Center. Was on the 8:00 train from Reading, which pushed the dead train from Malden into North Station.
There were at least three dead trains on Haverhill...
7:30 inbound from Reading (pushed in by 8:00, reported out of Malden at 8:50).
6:46 inbound from Haverhill (pushed in by Amtrak, over 60 mins late).
7:30 inbound from Haverhill was 60-90 mins late.
9:05 from Haverhill cancelled outright.
8:30 inbound from Reading cancelled and replaced with buses.
Some of that's taken from T alerts, some from from Keolis' tweets, and some from updates from a friend on one of the trains. And that's not counting the various outbounds that were impacted as well.
The early advice really does work. I took the 5:05 am inbound from Haverhill - looks like one of only two inbounds on the line to run near on-time.
B Line
Around 8:45 AM, there was a green line train limping into BC. No idea if it effected service or not.
Latest problem
Due to a wire issue, the T will be bussing between Lechmere and North Station. Alert says to "expect significant delays as buses are sent."
Well, I'll give them points for honesty.
