Receding snow reveals lost drone in Watertown

This ad popped up on Craigslist from Watertown near Newton Corner the other day:

As the snow has melted, I have found a drone in my yard that may have been lost a month ago during one of the storms or as the depth in the snow it was found, most likely lost after the first big storm. As it was frozen in the snow, it does not appear to have suffered any water damage and I will not list the type or model but it has gone on and has power. Please respond with make and model and your contact info. I researched the item and it is an expensive toy that I wish to get back into the hands of its owner.

H/t Hillary.

receding snow also reveals trash. I didn't notice it on friday, but man.. today the streets are DIRTY with trash. Not just bags, but general street trash.

The melting is also revealing hundreds of bags of dog shit.

But even worse, the shit that is unbagged. Why would dog owners think that since there is snow on the ground they are absolved from picking up after their mutt?

how much dog shit is going to end up on people's boots, snowshoes, and skis?

Back in the early '70s, before people picked up their dogshit, walking across Boston Common on the first warm day of spring was quite an experience.

Could be worse. Just think what spring was like in the era of horse travel.

Ungulate dung isn't half as bad as predator.

40+ years later, the smell of all that dog poop thawing out at once still sticks in my memory. Horse manure is perfume in comparison.

I saw a Christmas tree sticking out of a snowbank.

Every neighborhood has a spring clean up.

I have a friend who lost a drone in flight in Somerville. It's unlikely this is his but who knows? Will let you know!
