City Council president has a future as a pub singer
Boston City Council meetings usually conclude with a recitation of recently deceased Bostonians whom councilors wish to remember with a moment of silence. Today's meeting, though, had an added ending: City Council Bill Linehan singing "Danny Boy."
Linehan started the meeting by giving councilors shamrock pins. As the normal council business wound down, an aide brought a guitar up to Linehan's podium at the front of the council chambers and he said he wanted to send his fellow councilors into "the high holidays" with an appropriate song.
After he was done, the council and staffers rose as one to applaud.
All of the Irish-American members of the council wore green ties, except Matt O'Malley, who claimed the "red-headed exemption." Councilor Mark Ciommo, however, more than made up for O'Malley's blue tie with a bright neon-green tie that could be used as an emergency traffic signal.

Don, you know fully well
That any written transcription will not reflect how well or poorly Linehan played and sang.
And you jerks

A True Son Of South Boston
Nothing better than someone acting all Irish by singing a song written by an Englishman in the most imperial of cites; Bath. South Boston Eiresatz to the core.
Keep strumming away Bill, I wouldn't expect anyone else from the "Town" to know any better.
Comment of the year
I was actually going to give that honor to the "my kids' mothers go to Braintree High" crack I read last night in the T vandalism thread, but you get it for "Eiresatz." That's an even better word than "trustafarian."
Not My Word
Full credit goes to, I think, Eileen McNamara at The Globe. I saw it about 20 years ago in a column and said that's a great word. It hits the begosh and begorra crowd / I think one of my great grandfathers was from Dublin crowd right upside the head.
Sheesh
I can't believe how long it took me to "get" Eiresatz. Definite proof that my mind is withering away faster than I thought.
All together now
Oh, Fishy Boy, the rings, the rings are calling
From bag to bag, and down the Widett side.
My cash is gone, and all the wise guys falling,
'Tis you, 'Tis you must pay and I must bide.
If Boston is a majority-minority city
when will we be allowed to arrest Linehan and his ilk for hate crimes when they push this Irish First crap?
Hate crimes? Um, what?
Please, try to get a grip. Guy was celebrating his heritage, so you're ready to tar and feather him? Dapper O'Neil and his politics of hate have been gone a long time now, councilors seem to get along with each other quite well and even enjoy each other's company, and I have no doubt that if Josh Zakim felt the need to sing the Dreidel song in December, they'd let him.

What are the Names of the Boundary Streets of District 2 ?... the District represented by this Boston City Council member.
Rather than constantly asking here
Have you tried contacting whichever councilor it is who represents District 2?
Too easy
I'll always remember when he asked for the boundary of district 9. I mean, it's surrounded by other cities, with a sliver connecting it to Zakim's district.
Hidden List of the Names of the Bordering Streets of District 2.
Hidden from the public are the Names of the Boundary Streets of Boston City Council District 2. Precision is missing from the maps. The maps lack the precise markings that if you try to compile a list of the Names of the Bordering Streets of District Two ambiguity prevents a complete, exacting list of the Names.
Ward maps that are current need further research for the most recent Amendments. It's unclear to the public. There aren't accurate maps with completely clear, unambiguous markings indicating the Bordering Streets. A List makes it more clear. The List of the Names of the Bordering Streets of District 2 is hidden.
Hidden?
The street names are on the map referenced below.

How to List Names of Bordering Streets can be tricky...
a) How to List Names of Bordering Streets can be tricky... for example the area along the East side of Fort Point Channel including the HarborWalk didn't get picked up on this map of District 2
b) What's the most recent Amendment defining the Bordering Wards of District Two ?
Complete detail of the geography of District 2 include a List of the Names of Bordering Streets, whether one side of any Bordering Streets are divided between Districts from the other side of those split Bordering Streets.
