Seems a lot of people lost drones this winter

You may recall the lost drone of Watertown. The original poster of that Craigslist ad provides an update:
I am amazed at how many people have lost their drones and have contacted me about my previous post. After some research and exchanging emails with some great people, I was able to download the only video on the DJI Drone and I determined that its launch point was from The Lincoln Eliot School in Newton. The school is on the corner of Pearl and Jackson Street. I hope this info helps the owner. Please have the serial number and model of the DJI ready to match the Drone.

*facepalm*
Why not just update the ad and ask people where they launched from...
Impressive that it got so far, however.
Lost drones
The more lost drones the better.
Owning drones is a thing now?
Owning drones is a thing now?
This crazy world is leaving me behind again, isn't it?
Anybody else getting the ad?
The one for the quadcopter capable of carrying a go-pro?
Yeah. I'd say they are a thing. I do enjoy it when my professional photographer friends post things like drone tours of university facilities and private schools that they have been hired to quietly record from an aerial perspective.
Hey, I liked "drone vs hawk"
Hey, I liked "drone vs hawk" on video as much as anybody.
I just thought their use was still so limited, it surprised me that so many could have been lost, locally, in such a short amount of time. I still think of them as specialized items limited to somewhat specific scientific/business/military purposes. That's changing, I guess. I can't suppress a vague feeling of unease (although no hawks were harmed).
$50 drone at Radio Shack
This probably isn't even the cheapest drone you can buy now, but it's the first one I found with a little searching.
When did we start calling
When did we start calling these things drones? They are just RF flying thingamjigs.
When did we stop calling them quadcopters, for that matter?
Drones just sound sexier, what with all the spycam implications and everything, maybe?
Not all are quadcopters
Some only have two rotors, others up to eight!
Christmas Presents...
gone awry.
next time
Don't say "This expensive item goes to the first person to guess the make and model," and maybe you'll have fewer responses.
