Marty Walsh held a Twitter chat yesterday, and answered one of the more pressing issues of the day:
.@choll12 We are all devastated about Zayn Malik but we must soldier on #ASKMJW
— Mayor Marty Walsh (@marty_walsh) March 25, 2015
Oh, and look: Somebody has started an online petition to rename the Zakim Bridge the Leonard P. Zayn Malik Bridge.

Glad to know Walsh is a verified idiot.

We believe you have a sense of humor. Now answer some serious questions. Enough already. If I want comedy I'll call Dick Doherty.

Nonstory all around, but I do think it was kind of cute.

He comes online to answer questions for a limited time. He can ignore the stupidity and take the hard questions but he chose not to. No one wants to read him playing softball with morons. People had real questions. Having said that, I wonder when NKOTB are coming back?
I just learned something

Reading the summary of "twitter conversations" involving well know powerful elected officials is very annoying. Too much stuff there, and very little substance. Walsh would answer a question, but I mostly could not figure out what the questions was. And although there were a lot of good questions, there was much, much more crap. Heck, why glom on to this. He answer the question of Godfather II versus Godfather III (or I, I was just happy to see an actual question.)
At the end of the day, he responded to some real questions, and interestingly there was one question that was cut-and-pasted from several twits which was factually wrong. At the end of the day, this is twitter we are talking about. Hitting back a few softballs thrown his way would seem to be what twitter is all about.
And besides, look at the retweets. And the fact that otherwise Adam might not have even reported on this. It was a good move in the end.

It's one thing if you're monitoring the hashtag in real time; quite another to parse out the meaning and flow of questions and answers in a "transcript" after it's done. Give me a Reddit AMA, at least for the format, any day.

Dale Carnegie
By Ishmael Jones

Either he or someone on his staff is a Dale Carnegie graduate, that line is taken almost verbatim from one of Carnegie's books, wherein a student is giving a speech with the opening line "Lincoln is dead." He then has an attack of stage fright and cannot talk; after a few minutes of stammering the teacher says: "We are all devastated by that news, but we must soldier on."

You are still a kid in my books.
To be fair, I am still called a kid, and I know people my age who are grandparents. Of course, senior citizens and friends call me kid, and every day I know the "kid" era is coming to a close.
And I know who Zayn Malik is. I can identify two members of One Direction- the Irish one and the Muslimy one. And I have to admit that One Direction is in fact a half decent singing group.

X Factor?

I think these were five finalists on the X Factor UK or something, weren't they? And Simon Cowell threw them all together into a single group and *poof* 1D was formed?
So, it's not like we're even seeing Yoko separate lifelong friends or anything. They came together, did their thing, they originally even wanted solo careers...and well, he's leaving the band.
Something like that anyways.
