Police: Motorist stops to confront man who seemed to have just fired a gun in Mattapan

Boston Police report a motorist who head a loud bang around 8:25 a.m. yesterday on Elizabeth Street in Mattapan, spotted a man standing over a gun - and then stopped to confront him.

The man, police say, stood up and ran towards Astoria Street, without the gun.

Officers observed a loaded black .40 caliber Glock firearm with a spent shell casing in the chamber on the street in the area of 5 Elizabeth Street. Detectives recovered and processed the firearm and ballistics. Officers canvassed the area for victims and persons matching the above male’s description to no avail.

You managed to make a Glock FTE. Taking the idea of letting off shots mid-morning on a residential street out of the equation, you either held the firearm like a moron or had one dirty gun. I hope that Glock was manufactured before 1998 or properly transferred...ya know, to be in compliance with strict MA gun laws that prevent criminals from getting weapons.

They should just not even try because people can still somehow get weapons. Might as well clear those OUI laws off the books, as they're obviously not working.

I encourage you to read up on Mass gun laws. Regardless of your opinion on gun control, you might find yourself thinking "well how does that help anything?" And you wouldn't be alone.
