Gunfire erupts near Roxbury Crossing T stop
By adamg on Fri, 03/27/2015 - 2:57pm
Terrace Street is shut at Tremont as police investigate gunfire on Terrace near Alleghany around 2:45 p.m.
Police are looking for a newer model, steel-blue Tundra pickup. The driver of that pickup may have been firing a gun as he drove - and possibly got off more than a dozen rounds.
Not long after, somebody showed up at Boston Medical Center with gunshot wounds.

We need more Private Police
We need more Private Police Departments like Longwood Security Patrolling the HOOD!
Pay Longwood or BPD for
Pay Longwood or BPD for security details, and see which is better. When BPD is on patrol, they're not there to just provide vigilance.
This is pretty far from the Longwood Medical Area
I don't see why they would be sending LMA security people down there.
Longwood is a private
Longwood Security is a private company utilizing special officers. They are security officers who have the right to be armed and defend their physical space, and to detain someone for arrest by police. They serve whatever building/institution pays them, including plenty of apartment buildings in my neighborhood, near Ashmont.
all of that is incorrect.
all of that is incorrect. they have full powers of arrest, and work many of the housing developments in the city.
While on their property, special police officers have have full powers of arrest and can make the arrests without police assistance, do the paperwork, etc. they can also issue citations.
Jesus... Used to live on Wait

Terrace
It actually looked like Terrace might be on the upswing, with the lofts being renovated at one end of the street and that restaurant midway down. Unfortunately no additional new construction of note has occurred since the lofts. The restaurant is now closed due to a sprinkler leak and likely some other issues. And the only businesses on the street roll the sidewalk up at dusk.
The few decrepit buildings that have not yet been knocked down need to be razed, more apartment buildings built. And at least one convenience store and a restaurant or two need to go in there to keep that street from reverting further into no man's land.
The street's location is to convenient to have lain fallow so long.
