Homeless man falls into Muddy River, dies

State Police and the Boston Fire Department report the death of a man spotted falling into the river at Charlesgate around 6 p.m. State Police report:

Boston Fire Department began probing the shallow waters of the Muddy River and located the body of a 55-year-old man at the bottom of the river. The initial investigation indicates the man was homeless and fell into the water and drowned.

Last year, crews recovered a total of three bodies from the same general location.

The second man remained beneath the overpass at 7 p.m. Tuesday, holding his head in his hands and crying. He declined to speak with reporters.

“These two were buddies, Gentile said. “They were always hanging out around here.”

Including the man's housing situation in the headline is unnecessary, and colors the story with classism. It appears as though you believe that the fact that the man was homeless fundamentally changes the nature of the occurrence. It would be useful to reconsider the value your writing places on the lives of people experiencing homelessness.

which calls for "who, what, where, when, why, and how." The fact that the person is homeless is entirely germane to this story. Perhaps you overly sensitive, politically correct, and beyond left leaning attitude are what need adjusting.
