More leafy woes for the Riverside Line, this time in Newton Highlands

After dealing with a downed limb on power lines in Brookline, MBTA crews are now off to Newton Highlands, where another tree has come down on power lines along the Riverside Line.

MBTA Tree trimming Plan

It would be interesting to enquire about the MBTA's tree trimming plan an important part of system Winter resilience as it is for electrical power systems. Something that Eversource often neglects because its cheaper to clean up afterwards then to engage in proactive maintenance.
Third time since June
This is the third time since June that a tree-related item has fallen on the Riverside line wires and partially shut down the line. This has happened to me twice, including this morning. One really wonders if the MBTA knows what it is doing. Do they ever check the condition of the trees, especially after a major storm like last Tuesday?
In response to an earlier commenter below, these incidents have occurred in both Brookline and Newton.

In Defense of the Pruners
That tree looks like it was 50 feet or more from the tracks and in someone's yard. It just fell the wrong way [or right way if it means it did not land on your house].

From those who have been pushing the MBTA to be more green, this is not what we meant.
