Michael Schlow told the Boston Licensing Board this morning he's hoping for a September opening for his Doretta Taverna and Raw Bar at 91 Park Plaza - where he closed his Via Matta Italian restaurant this spring after 13 years.
Schlow needs board approval because he's created a new corporation to own the impending taverna. He promised "a Greek restaurant of similar caliber" to Via Matta.
The board votes tomorrow on the request for approval of the ownership change. The mayor's office is in support of the move.

First, it should involve the Germans and them dictating terms, austerity, debt or people not paying.
Oh, there it is! "Michael Schlow told..." A nice German name, so we have a German running this Greek eatery. There is the kernel of a joke. Greeks needing to sell off their cuisine to the Germans.
