On Pier 4, near the road on the World Trade Center side, you can now buy any of several types of frozen bait from a vending machine that is open for business 24 hours a day: Clams, squid, pogies, herring and, of course, whole mackerel.
Don't worry, you don't have to bring $5 in bills or quarters to get a pint of frozen squid - the machine take credit cards (and also dispenses hooks and even #6 Sabiki bait fish rigs). When you return, there's a nearby table and hose with which to clean your catch.

Fish Cleaning Station
There is a fish cleaning station right next to this vending machine, made up of a couple of flat sinks and a hose. It has some very interesting guidelines, like, "fish cleaning is only allowed at this station, and is not permitted anywhere else on this platform or the dock."
They should take care to make sure the "fish" leaving Whiskey Priest are aware of this.
owner?
who is owner of this baitbox? it's been out of service for a long time and there is no company name or phone number on the machine
