The scene at Blue Hill Avenue and Gaston. Photo by Justin Hall.
Around 2 p.m. at Blue Hill Avenue and Gaston Street. So far, nobody has turned up shot. Police have recovered a couple of guns on Gaston.
UPDATE: Boston Police report arresting London Lee, 22, Jerome Meade, 21, of Lynn and Jovane Santiago, 18, of Dorchester on charges of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Police say the three drove up to 35 Gaston and that Lee and Meade got out, went behind the house and opened fire, while Santiago stayed in the back seat. The three then drove away - only to be stopped a few blocks away.
Innocent, etc.

What is it with more and more daytime shootings? What is causing them? Do they want to spend more time with their families at night so do their shootings during the day?

Anon #1 implied that Boston as a whole is getting more and more dangerous. The reality is that the violence is basically confined to a few spots. Sucks for those spots, and Boston has to try and do something about it, but I saw what anon #2 was getting at.

but it just struck me as smug or dismissive or both. A lot of people--totally decent, law-abiding people--live in these neighborhoods where bullets are flying and it seems as if the guys with guns are getting more and more reckless. It just seems obnoxious to say "not where I live" and leave it at that.
