Stony Brook thief shows lack of ambition - or maybe he just had a flat
By adamg on Wed, 09/30/2015 - 11:54am
Transit Police have posted photos of a guy who rode up to Stony Brook station on a bicycle Monday morning, went to the bike rack and stole a tire off another bike.

I'm sure they mean a wheel,
I'm sure they mean a wheel, not a tire.
Well...
...he's empty handed. So I guess it might be a tire conveniently packaged on a rim, because he doesn't have two screwdrivers to screw the tire off of a rim.
Misprint?
They have to really mean he stole the whole bike wheel, right? Otherwise I better figure out how to lock my Gatorskins onto my rim.
How bad is the bike theft problem on the T?
Didn't the Transit Police stop bike thefts at Alewife by using a statue of a policeman?

Is it me?
I'm surprised they even bothered to post a photo since the BPD's attitude towards bike theft seems to be indifferent at best. I understand that they can't catch all of them but honestly...a wheel? Why are they suddenly interested?
Not BPD
Transit Police. Who are eager to show that all the money we've
wastedspent for those 80 gazillion "necessary" survelliance cameras is being well spent.
