It's a drug to him.. he keeps posting.. and posting.. and posting. Some burning desire inside to do that, regardless if it's relevant or not.

Also, I can do without the Netscape Navigator 3.03 Gold designed pages....

Try to show that more open data would improve civic discourse. It would be nifty making available more data! For example, a) TABLE/CHART of Roll Call Votes of Public Meetings of Boston City Council. Emphasis, Roll Call Votes formatted in an easy to understand TABLE/CHART !

b) Stenographic Record of Public Meetings of Boston City Council for hard of hearing folks, for the Deaf Community, for all to comment.

c) Full Text of WGBH Captions from Webcasts/Cablecasts of Public Meetings of Boston City Council.

d) Better detailed easier to understand maps of Council Districts, Wards, Precincts that clearly label Bordering Streets of Districts, Wards, Precincts.

e) Or ....?

Does the City of Cambridge provide these things you mentioned?

I see meeting minutes https://www.cambridgema.gov/cityclrk/citycouncilmeetingminutes These are very similar to the weekly meeting notes Michelle Wu sends.

I don't see WGBH transcripts. Does Cambridge broadcast their meetings?

I think both Boston and Cambridge have terrible websites.

Stenographic Records of Public Meetings of Cambridge Boards/Commissions are available online, for example at
https://www.cambridgema.gov/license/hearingminutes

Minutes of Public Meetings of City Councils are available online for Cambridge and Boston. Webcasts/Cablecasts of Public Meetings are archived online and available live during a Public Meeting at

WGBH Captioning Full Text Transcripts are routinely sent out after each Webcast/Cablecast but Boston hasn't asked WGBH Captioning for the Full Text Transcripts of Captions

An elected school committee. What a novel concept.

Democracy is too dangerous to entrust with the public. They might vote in the interests of the children instead of the teachers, administrators, and janitors' unions.

better all the time. Our mayor and school committee seem to have no problem making deals with charter school organizations and religious schools (Boston Compact) rather than prioritize the school system they were elected (or int he case of the school committee, selected) to support and oversee.

They are elected to serve their constituents. If their constituents are clamoring to get out of a broken system - it's their job to provide a working system for them. BPS seems to work fine for the high end of the academic spectrum (exam schools) and the low end (special needs). But the kids in the middle seem to be getting left behind - and the ones most likely to seek out charters.
