Third teen charged in Forest Hills gunfire incident

An 18-year-old was arraigned today on charges he opened fire on a group of teens after an argument on a bus entering Forest Hills station Friday morning.

Robert Acosta's arraignment in West Roxbury Municipal Court comes a day after Kisean Parker and Kevasia Lowe were arraigned for the gunfire that shut the Orange Line and Washington Street shortly before 8 a.m.

Acosta and Parker were charged with shooting at teens outside the upper busway. Lowe was charged with using a taser to threaten the teens.

Today, Judge Sally Kelly imposed $25,000 bail on Acosta, the Suffolk County District attorney's office reports, adding prosecutors had asked for $100,000 bail..

Yesterday, Judge Ernest Sarason set bail at $15,000 apiece for Parker and Lowe, the DA's office reports, adding that should Parker make bail, he'll have to stay with an out-of-town relative.

All three were ordered to stay away from Forest hills and the victims in the case.

Why do troublesome teens flock to Forest Hills station on a daily basis,what is the attraction?

an 18 year old is an adult. So why do we persist in referring to them as "teens" in the context of serious crimes?

Because it's more precise than saying "Third adult charged in Forest Hills gunfire incident."

Especially when "Teen" in a crime headline implies a juvenile.

Third adult, or better still, third person is perfectly accurate in this instance.
