A Boston health inspector reported today that S & I To Go, 168 Brighton Ave., passed an inspection after being shut last week for a variety of health issues.
Delicious as always
restaurant in town, and I've never had an issue there, except for having to talk them into serving me the traditional side of the menu. I suspect their hard-learned policy is "Don't serve the good stuff to farangs: they always complain it's too weird and/or spicy and never come back. Just talk them into the pad thai and chicken satay; they'll be happier." Which is probably a sound default approach for most non-Thai customers.
I did not know about the shut down, and never had a problem previously, thank goodness, but tonight I went and placed an order via Foodler, for delivery, as I have done many times, and after 40 MINUTES, I get an e-mail saying that they can not complete my order. No explanation. I replied asking for one, nothing so far. Called, no human. I called S&I directly and they said I am out of their delivery area. I have been ordering from them for over a year, and never had an issue. I live in Watertown, but pretty close to them, and again, I have ordered from them many times and NEVER had an issue, so to wait 40 minutes to tell me that I no longer can (and I have diabetes, so I am pretty pissed off that my sugar is crashing) is just ridiculously unprofessional, and the woman on the phone was SUPER rude. I tried explaining that since I am only about a mile out of her new so-called delivery area, it would be nice if since I would be paying a delivery fee ANYWAY, and my order was 4 times t he minimum, it would be nice if she could have it delivered since it was their fault for not informing Foodler that they should no longer be on the list for my delivery area, and that I wou;dn't even mind adding an extra dollar to the fee, but she just kept screaming, so I hung up. II am so disappointed. I really liked them.
