A news story that correctly uses the description, 'assault rifles'. Seriously, this is really bad. Alarm system turned off? Who the hell is running security here? Moe? Shemp?
Government security is all "security theater." Fake. 95% of undercover bombs make it through the TSA, but your water bottle and shoes don't. What you're seeing here is what happens when what they call "security" goes up against people who are actually trying to do something nefarious.
I think I'll go pry up every grating and sign on Storrow and other roads and scrap them. You think anyone would mind? Resident only parking signs, too.
If pesky reporters ask the National Guard and all law enforcement agencies in Massachusetts to reveal how many weapons are missing from their inventories in the last ten years.
I remember Katherine Ann Power and her gang stealing weapons in the 70's. There was also another break-in in either the 1970's or 80's.
Some of those weapons (M60 machine guns) apparently ended up in the hands of the IRA. I think one was recovered.
This time around, it's anyone's guess.

They'd catch the bad guy before the end of the reel.
They have no real security

i'm just guessing that they're going to be hunted down with lots of resources, just in case.

If it's a simple burglary and they don't have any evidence how would that work?

really theft? the thieves presumably pay taxes and thus from a certain point of view, are entitled to these weapons

That would be like taking a soldier's rifle.

These were taken from the armory, not active service. Go down to the DPW and take some road signs from the warehouse and you'll be fine.
Bad news could get worse!
